Honeymoon Pics!

Mr Davis and myself enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon at Lava Hot Springs in Idaho. We didn't take a lot of pictures but here are the few we did take:

Our cute bridesmaids and groomsmen decorated our car and here a few pictures I snapped on the drive to Idaho! When we had been at our hotel for a few days, the lady who worked at the desk asked us if we were the newly wed couple. We asked how she knew and she told us she had seen our car :D

We saw this cool mountain on the way to lava with snow that looks like a heart :D

This was our gourmet dinner that we ordered the night of our honeymoon. Fancy table cloths and sparkling cider in wine glasses with our pizza. And look how cute the little chocolate covered strawberries are with the tuxedos!

 We were able to visit the Idaho Falls temple on our honeymoon. It was beautiful!

Family Bridal Shower

I know this is late, I never got around to posting before the wedding. We had a wedding shower thrown by my wonderful aunts. A lot of hard work went into it and it was wonderful! Here are the pictures: (by the way, the bows on my head thing is this terrible family tradition where the groom has to kiss off all the bows on top of the bride's head that came from presents. So there ya go.)

Everyone asks how he proposed so here is the story: :D 

I went to my student clinical internship for massage on Saturday morning. After giving 4 massages, I headed home and called Jon. He told me he was on his way to my house so we could go to Park City and go on the Alpine Slide. When I was almost home, I asked him where he was (I couldn't hear any signs of driving like his door shutting, car beeping, etc). He told me he was between 4500 S and 3900 S. He was so specific, it didn't sound like he could be lying. When I got home, I walked to my room and noticed the door was shut and I hadn't left it that way. I figured someone else did when they walked by and I walked in. My room was clean and my bed was made (which I did not do when I had left that morning at 7:30). There were red flowers scattered across my bed and in the middle was a cupcake box. You see, cupcakes are sort of our thing. When one of us is going through a hard time or having a bad day, we go to this little cupcake store by my house and get one for each other. He bought me one on my birthday too. We love the red velvet cupcakes! Anyway, that is why it was special for me. I opened up the box and there were 4 little cupcakes sitting on a white box. Then Jon walked into my room and I said "I didn't think you were driving!" He laughed and said "yeah." Then I said "you got me cupcakes!"I took them out and grabbed the box. He grabbed my hand and the box and got down on one knee. I said "you know you're holding my right hand" haha I was kind of confused. He laughed and said "I know". Then he told me how he had prayed about us getting married and felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and then asked me if I would marry him. I said "of course!" and we hugged. Then we ate delicious cupcakes. It was pretty awesome! I love him :D

Mini Golf Date

Jon and I wanted to go on a fun outdoorsy date so we looked up entertainment nearby on my gps and that gave interesting results. Bible camp, a chevron, and Actors Boot Camp, and tons of other random entries, most of them 200 or more miles away. Then we looked up mini golf by texting google and we got the result Schneiter's Night Lighted Ring. We checked it out and it's the most ghetto little mini golf course. 3 of the holes stole our balls. It's normally $6 a person but the kid running the place told us that straight up and charged us the kids price (like two-for-one) so that made it awesomely ghetto! We had fun just making fun of how ghetto it was. I did pretty well at first but then I had a hole or two with like ten+ shots when I was having difficulty putting so Jon won. Don't tell him, but I'm pretty sure he cheats ;)

Self Portraits (Of Each Other)

Jon had the idea to try to draw/paint each other while we were hanging out last week. At first he was too ashamed to let me share the drawings with anyone but he's changed his mind. Just so you know, the beard I gave Jon was because I dripped black water color on his chin and couldn't fix it. At least now it kind of looks like I meant it to be there.

Jon's Graduation!

This is a funny little story form Jon's graduation. Jon graduated from the University of Utah in Biomedical Engineering and the color of the tassels for his college was orange. Jon graduated with honors and got to wear honor chords at graduation. On the way from his car to his graduation he dropped his tassel in the parking lot and by the time he realized he didn't have it, it was too late to do anything about it. He texted me that he lost it and I told his family, so when we were looking for him, we were trying to spot a graduate with out a tassel on his hat. We did end up spotting Jon but he mysteriously had a tassel. Turns out he cut off his honor cord tassel on one end and pinned it to his hat. He is pretty funny, when questioned about this event he said "what do you expect, I am an engineer" or something to that effect. Here's a picture of the severed chord :D

Moab Trip!

Moab Trip!!! I went with my ward and I convinced Jon to go with me (and I'm so glad because it wasn't really the kind of thing that would be fun by yourself). I sorta made this goal before I ever decide to get married to get the most of my single time and one of the things I wanted to do was go on a singles ward trip (check!). One fun thing Jon and I did was we went horseback riding and it was really fun. My horse was named Boulder. Our wrangler told me "Boulder is solid. We'd put an 8 year old on him". I don't know how I was supposed to feel about that, like if I just came off as someone who didn't have the confidence to ride a 'not solid' horse, lol but I am glad I got him because I was really nervous. I was super excited and it was my idea. Jon and I have this list of things we've wanted to do, in fact I'll probably post the list on here, and that's been one of the few things still on our list after a year. Jon loved his horse so much that days later he still told me he missed his horse, Harley. Here are some horse pictures:

My favorite picture is the one of Jon where he looks like the horse is bucking and Jon has got the reins in one hand. Yeah, that's my Jon, he's tough :D
Jon drove to Moab and I studied Pathology and did homework aloud with his help. Then when we got there (my friend Melony also road with us) and set up our tent in the dark with help from some friendly strangers and then went to Denny's. It was about the worst service I've ever had. They got our drink orders twice, messed them up anyway, didn't bring us our food for 45 minutes and didn't bring us the check (we had to get it ourselves) and no service the whole time. It was bad. Apparently everyone who went there all weekend said it was terrible. The next morning we went horseback riding, then went shopping on main street. We got dinner back at camp and waited around for the devotional. Unfortunately it rained so that got canceled and our tent had no rain protection and everything was sopping. I was tempted to just get a hotel room, apparently the whole bishopric did. Most of our ward went and saw Robin Hood that night, but Jon and I missed it because we were sitting in my car, hiding from the rain and studying and talking about pathology. We got hot chocolate and made engineer-ish adjustments to our ghetto tent. I managed to sleep warm that night and dry. Jon had to sleep in my car because he had just slept next to our tent the night before, but that wasn't possible in the rain. Well, at least not desirable. And the next day we were going to go river rafting and I was really excited because I'd  never been, but due to miss communications we weren't able to find the group so we didn't get to go, we just drove home. Off Broadway Theater Date

Last week, Jon and myself decided (but mostly me really) to plan a super fun thoughtful date for each other because we've been getting lazy lately and not really going on dates. We hang out, sure, but we just go to the gym or watch tv because it's free and easy and takes hardly any thought. I chose to take the first weekend. I looked up on City Weekly and found that a play called Star Ward was playing at Off Broadway Theater.

I'd never been but decided to get tickets. They were $16 a person but I thought I could get the student discount ($12) so it would be a bit more affordable. However when I went to buy the tickets online, I realized I would have to pay a $4 convenience fee. So my cheapness led me to drive down and by tickets myself but the ticket office wasn't open. The manager felt bad for me and gave me a two for one coupon and told me he would get me into their comedy improve show (laughing stock) for free. We didn't end up going to laughing stock but we did get two tickets for $12 which was so awesome! The play was ok but it was kind of confusing and the acting and singing weren't great. I give them credit for trying and some of the jokes were funny. Some were terrible. There was one part where Darth Sinner cut off Luke Singleswarder's right hand and then said "at least I chose the right". I'm glad I only paid $12 to see it. It might have been worth $6 a person, but definitely not $18. I think they were extra bad because it was opening night- lines that were spoken too fast, mic's not turned up enough, and jokes that bombed. At the end of the show, the MC said "if you liked it, tell your friends. If you didn't, keep your mouth shut". I appreciated that. I give it 2 stars. I would still choose Desert Star if I'm going to spend that much money. However, because I did get a great deal on tickets, it was a pleasant surprise and Jon had no idea! I was going to do something awesome for dinner (my goal was to keep the date under $40). But we just made dinner spaghetti instead (Jon is amazing at making alfredo sauce) and our whole evening cost around $20 I believe. His turn is Thursday night (the activity is I won free movie tickets to see Letters To Juliet from City Weekly) but he gets to plan dinner. I planned the activity last week but not dinner so we're even-planning 1/2 the date and letting the other 1/2 be convenience. I really enjoy actually going on dates with Jon, he is great company.

2 random funny stories that have to do with this whole date: I was talking to Jon about doing things that were wrong and if he'd ever take risks that he shouldn't. I specifically brought up not buying trax passes and riding the train and that I'd never seen anyone check. He rides tracks a lot and has a pass through the U but said he's only ever seen them ask for your ticket a handful of times in all the times he's ever road it. I reluctantly bought a ticket because he wasn't willing to take a risk and then on the way back, a cop asked us for our tickets! It's like that Ironic song from Alanis Morrisette only everyone knows that song isn't Ironic and it was the opposite of what she would have said was ironic.

And the second story is after Jon and I exited trax to go in to the theater, I was telling him how excited I was to see the play or something of that nature and I did a little skip as we were walking and holding hands. Some crazy lady started yelling "HE'S GOING TO PROPOSE TONIGHT!!!" hahaha. Well he didn't, but that was funny.

Jody's Kids @ The Park

One afternoon, Jon and I found ourselves bored with an hour or so to kill. The weather was awesome for the first time in a long time and we had some old bread, so we took Jody's kids to the Park. We only ended up getting pictures of Matthew and Kevin on the Swings and playing because Andrew took off to hang out with some friends. It was fun to hang out with the kids at the park.
